Default Armrest storage?

Was just curious if anyone out there had noticed the storage space directly beneath the armrest? It looks as if it was designed to hold a manual or papers based upon the paper clip logo being there but I'm not too sure. Anyone else notice this and know what it's for? Even if no one does, what do you use it for?

Thanks

It's a document holder, they probably thought people would keep their insurance and registration there. I opt for the glove box because I know if I put it in the armrest I'm going to forget it's there.

I did notice it but I did not put too much thought into what it was meant for. I always kept my documents in my glove box, and being that I got that little folder for my manual, I thought that would be perfect to store my reg & ins there.

Ironic, I just noticed that today as well. I don't know if I will use the doc holder, but I may stick a few pens in the pen holder. Gigity.

Do they make a cover for the lid, it gets blazing hot when the top is off? Leaned on it and burned my arm.
