Congrat man, I'm sure thats a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. Check for the overheating tranny code (sorry, the actual number excapes me). Theres a few of us on here that have been getting the "ding", but our tranny temp was never high enough to actually cause it. And everytime we check for codes, there are none stored.

As for what cooler most everyone is using, B&M's cooler part#70268 is what I've seen most guys use. This is one without a fan. When it comes to coolers with a fan, you gotta be careful as its tough to fit it behind the grill. I myself like B&M's coolers with the fans as they come with a thermostat switch for the fan and everything. Most coolers require you to buy that seperately. I just got a brand new 7.3 powerstroke ford super duty tranny cooler for free, so I'm gonna try and make that work.

After measuring and researching... I think I'm going to go with the Flex-a-lite 4190 since it includes the fan with a thickness of only 3 1/8".

I'm still trying to find the amperage draw, hoping it's less than 10 amps to be compatible with the In-line fan thermostat switch from Derale (otherwise need a relay).

Getting the fan from amazon for $129 and the thermostat switch from JC Whitney for $32 doesn't seem too bad.

I'm definitely going with a fan since the slow rock crawlin won't get much airflow until the engine fan kicks in.

Are you happy with the purchase? Also was it easy to install your self. I have 35s and read I need a auto tran cooler myself.

No, the fan appears to be useless when I turn it on -- that is the aeroforce gauge readout for the trans temp doesn't change at all when the fan runs. The fan probably only affects it by a few degrees, too slight to notice it over time.

I would go with a larger cooler without a fan, although I haven't got the 'ding' since I've installed it.

It was easy to install, and made it easy to flush the tranny afterwards as well.
