Default Auto window down switches x4?

If I got my hands on two more of the front 'auto window down' switches, could I swap them in for the rear window switches and have that feature for the back too? or is there more electronics besides the switch? anyone anyone? Bueller?

Would love to have auto up as well.

I don't know for sure, but I think they would work.
I think the switch itself just has a mechanism to stick down when you press it hard enough, then goes back to normal when you raise the window.

Just my opinion though, like I said I don't really know.

I do believe it is a seperate electronic function..but don't quote me. I know that any aftermarket kit has options to upgrade with this function and it is a seperate module....it's possible that it's all part of the stock switch...but not sure

How many cables come out of the auto down switches?

In the very worst case, it's very simple to remove the console face and look at connectivity of the other switches.

My guess is (and that's all it is) that there is something unique about the switch. I also believe that the body computer is programmed to do something extra for the front that it doesn't do for the rears. Remember: the JK is all controlled by that ECU under the hood from throttle, to headlights, to door locks, and, I imagine, windows.

Just so you know, the front window switches are not 4 separate switches, but one big switch with the lockout for the rear windows. You'd need to find another Chrysler car (like the PT Cruiser convertable) that has all 4 as auto down switches to even try it.

All vehicles I've repaired that have an express down feature have a seperate module BESIDES the switches that controls the express down feature....Also the switches in the master control normally have different patterns- this is so you can keep purchasing replacement switches from the parts department rather than shifting them around...
