Has anyone ever replaced the shifter for an automatic? Something broke inside mine and Chrysler wants about $250 for labor on top of the price of $250 for the shifter. I was thinking about doing the shifter myself, but have no clue about the process of replacing it. I know the console has to come out but is it just a few bolts and I'm done?.... or does it involve adjusting anything?

Thx
Marc

What are the symptoms? Maybe the whole thing doesn't need replacing.

I am wondering this too. Is it binding or just hard to shift?

I had to take the knob off to get it to shift. The black plunger inside the shaft came right out. It's supposed to be attached inside the shaft all the way down. The only fix is a new shifter
