Ronjenx, I had the same thing happen to me today. Was puttin along some washed out snowmobile trails on a local state game lands, in 4lo, and I got the ding. Quite a few times actually, I stopped keeping track after 6. Mine wasn't for overheating though either, as according to my Aerotech Interceptor, my temp. never got above 215*, but it never got any lower than 192* either until we hit the open road on the way home. I even checked codes and had none stored. I didn't notice any lights either. I thought maybe it was ESP related since 4lo automatically turns it off and always gives that ding when it does, but I see you had this happen in 2wd too. I can't recall if it happened to me in 4hi or 2wd. I know once we started heading home and the temp. started dropping, it never did it again. The weird part is, I've done these trails before, in hotter weather, and never got the ding, but I just installed the gauge and changed my engine oil and filter last night.

I never noticed a light before the last few times. When noticed, it was just barely in my peripheral vision, just as I was looking down at the panel, and then all I saw was a light just going out as my eyes were moving down. So all I can say is it was in the lower left of the center warning section of the panel.
The light flashes for only a half second. If you were looking straight ahead, and didn't make a strong effort to look down when you hear the ding, you will not see the light flash.

Yeah, I was more worried about trying to keep my eyes on the trail. This just concerns me cause it didnt' do this until I installed the Aerotech gauge, and like i said, I've done these trails before in hotter weather, and never had this happen.

Mine started doing this long before the AeroTech installation.
I suspect the light was for the ESP/BAS or the ETC.
Keep in mind, though, some people have had the ding AND a transmission overheat code. Yours was below the threshold.

thats why I was worried the first few times it happened, I thought maybe my gauge wasn't reading right and my tranny was overheating, but then I checked for any logged codes, and there weren't any. I'll have to talk to my dealer this week and see if they have any ideas.
