Question Avoiding Rust

I had a question regarding scratches and scrapes i get on the trail on the rock guards or armor under the jeep.

What do i need to do to weatherize this to prevent it from rusting?

Thanks

If you're concerned about it, then just clean, lightly sand, primer, and touch up with paint.

Well, in that case, is there any way that duct tape can be used?

Default Won't moisture get caught between rubber and metal

I have seen some vehicles sprayed with rubber and when the rubber is cut into, then moisture get in there and you can't see it and you will have rust. Have you checked for this? I would think rustoleum would be the easy and safest fix. I have not heard of undercoating in years as I believe California stopped its use!

Paint is probably the easiest and least expensive. If you want to get serious, look into "cathodic protection for cars".
