They've decided to put in new shafts and seals.
I have to pay a $100 "deductable". I can live with that.
I sure hope this takes care of it, because they said that this is the only help I get. if it leaks again, I'm on my own.

stats in my sig-just picked up from dealer yesterday-12000 miles-drivers side failed. talked to my tech.-matter of time until passenger side goes.-sucks, but...lets face it-oem shit is always sub-par. I'm actually ok with that-I'm actually trying to make shit fail, so that I can replace them with superior aftermarket parts.-I honestly do believe that true Jeeps are built. I still love it dearly, and will never sell it.

How many of you had an axle seal fail.
If so, please post your mileage and mods if any.
For those have seal failures, it would be important to know the axle model and type of wheelin' you do, such as rock crawling, major flexing, jumping, etc. You may find a correlation between those factors.

Angry Yep-Mine is leaking too

Had a front axle seal leak at 12K and had it replaced, had the seal replaced again at 15K and now at 18K it is still leaking My Jeep is at the dealer to have the differential housing replaced per instructions from Chrysler. My fingers are crossed. I have been a loyal Jeep driver, this one being my fifth, but my patience is deteriorating very quickly. Interestingly enough, when I told the service manager about the dozens of posts on this forum related to leaking front axle seals, he said they hadn't had one other complaint. LOL!!!

I am currently negotiating with Chrysler to get reimbursed for the mileage of the nine trips of 59 miles each back and forth to the dealer. Will let you know what happens.

7800 miles. Front passenger side clearly failed. Dealer replaced both under warranty. I only voted for one since I think they did the second one after I strongly suggested it would be a good idea.
