Default Axle seals effected by bigger tires?

Dropped my jku off at Jeep this morning because the rear axle seal seems to be leaking. Service advisor told me not to be surprised if it's not covered under warranty because of my 315/70/17 duratracs. I know this is a pretty common issue on JKs and I've never heard of anyone having an issue getting the seals done under warranty. Just looking for some insight on what to do if they come back and say it's not covered because he said there'll be a $120 charge for them looking at it if I elect to not have them do the seals if they're not covered.

well tech larger wheels and tires will always cause more drive train and suspension strain. Basically they wear the moving parts and seals that move out faster.

If it were me and they didn't cover it. I would talk to the service manager and explain that if he doesn't cover it I will go to a dealership that will. The dealership does not have to tell Chrysler/Jeep that you have larger tires on. I believe dealers make more money charging you over warranty work. So far my dealership is "mod friendly" so i will continue to go there and live with their work.

Thanks guys. I have a feeling it will be fine and the service advisor was just new and wanted to manage my expectations just in case. Someone told me that the tires don't affect the seals, just the bearings so I wasn't sure if that'd be a valid argument or not. I really hope this works out because if it doesn't it'll mean I will have to move on to my ninth jeep dealership between all my bad sales and service experiences.

Heard from them a little while ago and all is good under warranty. They are also doing the front since that was leaking too
