Default Bas And Traction Light

Hi everyone I have a 2008 4 door 350 miles on it and was leaving a parking lot tonight and the bas light and the car with squigly lines came on. I drove about 3 miles till i reached home and the light is still on. If I press the traction control light it will shut the car with squigly lines off but other stays lite. Never been off road and only highway use so far. ANY IDEAS going back to the dealer a pain in the but is there a way to reset it. DOes it harm anything if i still drive it like this?? THANKS JIm

There is a malfunction in either your ESP or BAS system, or both. You probably want to get this checked out if it doesn't go off in the next few times you start your Jeep, and after you've driven several miles at over 30mph.

All of that is in the owners manual...check it out!

I had this happen one time, read the owners manual about this and it will give you some insights into the problem. Mine stayed on until I restarted the Jeep and I haven't had an issue since. If it happens again then maybe have the dealer check it out.

This happened to me twice. First time I drove a few blocks, the warning lights were annoying me so I decided to pull over and restart my engine and it went away.

The 2nd time this happened it stayed on much longer. I drove home and decided if the lights stayed on the next day I would go to the dealer. Well, They stayed on and as I was about 5 mins. away from the local dealer the lights went away.

...and thats been the last of my incidents with the BAS and ESP warning lights

i had this problem, 1st happened pulling into teh driveway of a parking lot hit , it was a small bump and i was turning over it. dont knwo if that had anything to do with it. dealer fixed said it was a broken clock spring which they replaced. Hasnt been on since. I would come on and off prior to the fix.

Yeah, mine's on right now. It's been on a few days now. I just really hate taking it back in to the dealer, but I guess I have no choice.

mine comes on at startup and stays on for 3-4 cycles then stays off for a month or so.
does not seem to effect anything just light comes and goes .in or out of 4x4 does not matter but does not effect the traction control.

Mine comes on often. The dealer hasn't been able to diagnose it. *sigh*

Mine came on twice and I just took it to the dealer last week. They said it was a software issue, reflashed it and it is good now.
