If you got the coin then get the yellow top especially if you have add-on goodies. It's what I'll be getting after the winter kills this stocker battery

Case in point, the cold is actually good for a battery, Heat kills. But on the flip side, the engine and fluids being cold take more power out of the battery to turn it over.

-40 is not good for a battery block heater and a batt blanket is good

Agreed, Cold is good, Frozen, not so much....

I didn't think It got that cold in AK.

Funny that my snowmobile has a battery for the electric start. Never replaced since 06. Stored outside in the bitter cold all winter and has never died.
Of coarse now that I've mentioned it it will die on me this year.
