Default Bearing shot, rings shot @ 65k anyone else seen this?

I too have had the ticking oner time. And in the last few month she has been using more & more oil. Until finally last fri, she started knocking... We thought Ahhh pushrods, popped the valve covers & they were all straight as an arrow. Dropped the pan & piston rod, bottom to find bearings are shot... Hadn't spun it yet, but they are gone.

Taking it in sat, for verification & hopefully a new motor under the lifetime drive train warranty... Will see how it goes. Hopefully they won't fight me on it.. But a shot motor, that has had oil changes every time the thing tells me too..@ 4.5 yrs & 65k miles is a tad ridiculous...

Anyone else seen or heard if this? Wondering?

Yea, hmmm well is an early 08 built in Feb... But sure the motor was probably mfg in late 07...well hopefully that will work to my benefit...

Has anyone heard of being refused on a the lifetime drive train warranty?... Or being fought on it at all.

I may be worrying about nothing. But just curious. Love my JKU, Nd just want to get back on the trail.

Mine spun the bearing at 31000 miles (50000kms ) they replaced mine under warinity. As long as you have done your required maintenance you should be good. I fought with them before they spun for making noise, but was told that it was normal. Once they were f***ed they hanged them no problem. It spun the mains in my 09 rubi.
What oil are you running? I was using synthetic, and all the people that were having issues with knocking were as well, so I've switched to normal Dino oil. Not sure if that was the problem or not. I still have cold morning start up ticking, but who knows eh.... If and when this one goes again it will be a hemi swap for me!

Did you take it in for the Required 50,000 mile inspection. I understand this is the agreement between You & Chrysler that maintains your Lifetime Warranty.

I think OP has the lifetime powertrain warranty. Only requirement is an inspection every 5 years in service.

Well haven' quite made 5 yrs... So no. But I am going to have them do it, while they have it.. Was looking @ the bearing we took out. Def 07. Fair guess the rest is too..

Reg maintenance has. Web done, every time it beeps at me to do it. Motors clean no sludge. INFACT it looks quite nice up in there... No reason to think anything could be wrong. Been running the requires 5 20 synth.

It has always had that tick to it.. But didn't start using oil till a couple months ago. So idk, just at a loss....

Goes into dealer this morning. Just hope I don't have a fight on my hands. Just want me jeep workin gong properly. So I can get back on the trail... It's already been a long week without it & to make matters worse the weather is awesome right now in Cali.. Should be wheeling, not arguing with Crystler.... lol....

Thanks guys.

Well They Asked for Oil Change Records today...I keep Records , But I do my own oil Changes, Thus It is just a simple Word Doc.....However I understand, they really cannot even ask for them under Lemon Laws ect ect...This Def being the case here......Mote is Spotless inside, Very Very clean for a 4.5 yr old jeep.....So i would say its pretty clear it has been taken care of.....

Read an interesting analysis of this potential problem here on the forum.....A gentleman popped into the Oil Sucking 3.8 thread & offered this.

the 3.8 was originally designed for the Caravan....And originally ran 10-30 & in the interest of Fuel Efficiency the Factory Spec for oil have dropped to 5-20 but have made No modifications to the General Motor.....Imagine That! Very plausible reason for Oil Consumption issues.

So Anyway will keep ya'll informed...
