ZERO issues with mine.
35 up front eh??

4.10 gears came with tow package(auto or manual) and the auto is the same shitty auto in all of them that over heats at the sight of mud

Cannot say much about other years, but my '09 JK after 18 mos and just getting back from a 6,000 mile trip has had 'zero' issues and best vehicle I have owned for fun factor.

Default Thinking 09's are the way to go.

Thanks guys for the replies to my thread.

Ive come to the decision of getting a 2009 sahara, 6 speed, and a hard top. I don't really want to take the chance with 2007/2008 years especially on the long ski trips up north.

what goes wrong with the 07's that doesn't with the 09's? it's not like we have auto climate and lots of electrical gadgets that go bad. also there are no major changes between 07 and 09.

the clutch squeek still happens on the 09's, the 09's still rattle at startup, etc.

personally i like the 07's rear seat a lot better too than the 09's. plus 3.73 gears are barely enough. hell 4.10's are barely enough.

it's your hard earned $, but there's no history of 07's having any particular problem that the 09's don't

Why don't you just read the recalls/tsbs?

I had an 07 that was lemon lawed. It was replaced with an 09. Turns out the 09 is MUCH more problematic than the 07 but I don't want to go through the hoops again to get it replaced.

I'll put my 07 X up against any other. No problems other than the soft top header channel. Even that was a minor annoyance. I am running 35's now, done EXTREME off roading, even laid it on it's side once. It is indestructible. Buy the best deal you can get, and make it your own. If you don't go extreme mods, you shouldn't have any issues. If you do go extreme, you will have issues regardless of year. Enjoy it, just make sure you really love it and can afford it.

The only problem I've had with my 08 (made in late 07) was the top head liner leaked in a not so heavy rain. It took some trial and error but we got it fixed. Also my door hinges were starting to bubble under the paint but the anti-corrosion warranty is good for 100k miles or 5 years so its all good.

I also just got rear ended. I think it might have totaled their car but the only damage to the outside of mine was the bumper. Inside is a different story. A set of hand-trucks got slammed into the inside of my swing gate

Im impressed with how well the Jeep healed up. I dont think it will matter which year/model you get....You'll like it cause I love mine
