Thanks

BLD is Brake Lock Differential. It is standard on all 4x4 JK's. Essentially it is when the traction control system applies the brakes to a spinning wheel, to redirect power to the other wheel with more traction. From what I have seen and experienced it is beneficial, but it is no replacement for actual lockers (standard on the Rubicon).

And additionally it is not a part of ESP, so it can not be disabled with the ESP button. Probably the only way to turn it off would be to reprogram the computer.

But obviously it is not active on a Rubi with it's axles locked. There would be no speed difference between the wheels so it would not activate.

I've found it to be very effective when combined with the LSD. So much so that at this point I'm planning on installing a front locker this Spring and leaving the rear diff alone.
