Default Blinking Locker Light

Something new and annoying has cropped up recently. My front locker light will start blinking and I cant stop it! It first did it while cruising at 70 on the highway, so I pulled over, shut it down and restarted........ no light........took off and at 65 it started flashing again! Pulled off the side of the road and put it in low range and engaged the lockers but only the rear would engage, the front light kept flashing. Hit the "off" button and both lights went off. Re engaged 2-hi and eased back up to speed, no light. That was last Friday. Went wheeling over the weekend and decided to play with the lockers again and the front is acting odd, takes a loooooooooooong time to engage. Monday's driving was fine but on Tuesday the locker light again started flashing between 30 and 35 mph only and again while stopped at lights. Anyone else had this experience? Sometimes I thing because I bought it on Halloween it's haunted

Cheers

I had one flash done in March and made an appt. for this Thursday to see if they can find a cause. Of course it hasn't done it again and most likely will be perfect until I leave the service dept. LOL So far mine is the only one reporting this problem they're aware of but they contacted the zone rep to see if he knows anything. Keep you posted.

Cheers

My rubicon was just delivered on 4-2-07, and my front locker also takes a long time to engage (flashes for a while). I never had the light flash any other time though.

Just returned from a day at the dealers and it was a hoot ! Got there and of course the light refused to flash. Went for a test drive and... no light. Went behind the shop and played in the dirt and the lockers performed like they should, engaged fast and went off with a single touch. No computer flash's were needed and no error codes showed so I left and as I pulled into traffic BLINK BLINK... it was back. Turned around and the service manager came out to see it and of course it had stopped ! They rechecked for error codes and none showed so off I went again. 15 miles out and the flash was back so I turned around and called as I approached the lot and they were waiting for me and finally saw it flashing. Still flashing now as a call to the tech hotling had no ideas either. Back to square one. Arghhhhhhh.

How long is a long time to engage? I picked up my rig tonight and when I got it home I was making sure that everthing would engage and the front locker light just flashes. I don't think waited too long before I cycled through and it kept flashing. How long is a long time?

Also I would have tested everything at the dealer but the guy was pretty much an asshole because I had ordered through jeepwarehouse.com and this guy was just collecting $250 to deliver it to me. The front tire was obviously low when I got there and it was like pulling teeth to get him to check it, and when we finally pulled it into service, the tech had to check everything because someone had "overlooked" the predelivery inspection....Good Times!

Have any of you came to the conclusion of this? Is it a TSB issue? My "REAR" locker light has been blinking on and off for the past week. It still engages, but very annoying to see blinking constantly. Any replies will be gladly appreciated.

I had this happen to me about a month ago, and had it into the dealer twice for it, and of course, they could not reproduce.

When the problem first happened, it came on as I was "parking" along a driveway, and had cranked the front wheels pretty sharp...light started blinking. Was in 2wd, so no way the front locker should have been trying to engage.

The problem stayed with us the remainder of the day....it happened more at slower speeds....and usually as braking, but also blinked a few times off and on at interstate speeds.

After the first time of having it in, and nothing, I started to experiment, and could "seem" to get it on more by plugging my iPod into a charger. It seemed to happen more often, but may have been nothing more than coincidence.

Took it back the second time, and got the most condescending mechanic I have ever encounter....he proceeded to give me a "demonstration" of engaging the lockers, after putting it in 4wdLo.

They "claim" to not have found anything wrong with it, and that I needed to bring it back in when it was flashing to see if they could capture a computer error code, but since then, I have had no more issues with it coming on.

My JK was a later March build/delivery, so would have thought it would have had all of the current "flashes".
