Default Brake Light Staying on (on the dash)

Anyone know where the sensor for the E Brake is? Even when its off the light on the dash won't go out.

I doubt it matters but it's an Auto.

A parking brake switch is mounted on the parking brake lever and is actuated by movement of the lever.
Water intrusion, maybe?

There are other things that will make the light stay on.

For example, if the light stays on when the parking brake is off, it indicates a possible brake system
fluid leak or low pressure level.

Well you are right about water intrusion, I just took the console apart and cleaned the switch. I confirmed it is makeing contact, I cleaned all the connections related. Corrosion was not nearly as bad as I expected.

I think I may have water in the brake fluid from the whole driving it into a river thing... I just assumed any issues with the actual brake fluid system would trigger the ABS light and not the Ebrake light but I bet that's it

Now any idea how to change my break fluid?
