Is there a write up for installing front and rear brake pads?

What are considered the best pads?

For what ever reason my rear pads are worn down way more than my fronts but I want to replace them all at the same time with the same grade of pads.

So I'm looking for a "how to" and opinions on the best brand and type of brake pad to use.

front back... um pads r pads. There are too many options for brand. dealer or napa

Front and back are different I'm pretty sure. Q-tec sells several brands of front and rear for about half the price of the dealership parts.

 

I think the only company that makes "upgraded" pads right now is Hawk and GreenStuff.

 

Go standard or ceramic. Standard is cheaper. Ceramic costs a little more but it doesn't dust as much.

Metallic are claimed to wear the rotors more than the previous two.

based on reading the parts on RockAuto.com it appears the fronts are ceramics and rears are semi-metalics. I wonder if that's why the rears wear faster - ceramics are outlasting semi-metalics?

I'm looking at these, which also have a $15 rebate. With the discount code -5%, the delivered price is $42.56. Before I order I'll run to my local parts store (first name basis there) and see if he's close in price. They all offer the rebates. I'd prefer to get it locally if possible.
