Default Brakes??

I've got 63,000 miles on my 2008 Unlimited X w/ 35" Pro Comp Tires, stock Rubicon wheels, 2.5" Skyjacker spring lift, and terraflex spacers. On Thursday, I heard the wear indicator on the rear passenger wheel start to contact the rotor, so I parked it in the garage and picked up two sets of Duralast Gold Cmax pads for the front and back.

I replaced the rear pads last night and the passenger side inner pad was shot (i.e. almost down to the metal backing plate. The rest of them worn, but not nearly as much and certainly not anywhere near the backing plate.

So, this morning I pulled the front wheels and those pads look fine (i.e. 75% left). This really confuses me. I've never had any problems with the brakes, or anything on my JK , and it seems to go against everything I've ever known about typical brake pad wear.

Anyone have any ideas? I do wheel it regularly, but mostly on the beach and I suppose being a 41 year-old cop, I'm pretty light on the pedals anyway, but still, it just doesn't make sense to me.

It is very common with the JK. I also did the rear at about 50k and the fronts still have 70%. From everything I read on the forum it has to do with the ESP.
There are several thread on this if you do a search.

I had to replace my rears at approx 30K miles on my 2008 2 door. I now have 40K and the fronts are still fine. They rears wear out far sooner than the front on JKs. The dealership service dept. warned me of it just before 20K miles. No worries. If you replaced them, you're good.

This is correct. The rears wear out faster not not only because of ESP but because of the traction control. Since it is a RWD any time you get wheel spin in 2WD (due to trying to start on a hill in the rain etc) the computer will put the brakes on the spinning wheel to transfer the power to the wheel that has more grip. When you combine this with the ESP "drags" the rear wheels to stabilize the Jk when it detects cornering too fast or skidding, the rear brakes wear out much faster than the fronts.

I have an '08 w/ 53k miles on it & just changed the rear brake pads this past weekend; also, with Duralast gold Cmax pads. The old rear pads were as thin as a sheet of paper lol.

How did you guys like the Duralast gold Cmax pads? I am about to change my breaks and wanted to make sure those were ok. I am also going to need new rotors, so I was going to use the duralast/brake rotor brand as well.
