Break In Period?
You should be fine. My Jeep is at 2800mi on the odometer and I've had it up in the mountains, in mud, water crossings, etc.
With that, I have noticed a pretty big climb in MPG within the last 100mi, I actually broke 16mpg for the first time and saw it go all the way up toward 19!
Hopefully it keeps going!

Another kitten down...
FWIW, I'm plannin' on picking my Jeep up in WV in July. After a good 300 miles or so of breakin' it in there, I'm plannin' on driving to Virginia Beach. It's not "mountains" like you guys out in CO see or anything, but some decent climbs through the Appalachians going out I-64.
I'm not gonna kill my JK, right?

I think the JK did get better at 3k than it was brand new, but it wasn't until I got up around 8k that it started handling the hills better. I hope it gets better still, but its tolerable now. Driving up to Eisenhower tunnel it was still a pain in the ass at around 3k, constant gear shifts in the automatic and it was a stretch to even keep it at speed, so I didn't. Sucks driving behind a semi going slow. Now it does it okay, not great - but ok. Course that is probably close to as extreme as you can get, 11,158' elevation so the air is thin, steep and sustained 7% grades, and highway speeds. I don't know how much of the fact mine took until 8k was the highway miles though - I hit the 8500 mark in less than three months. Maybe it takes more acceleration cycles than miles.

the whole break in time is for the ecu to get accustomed to the way you drive and the jeeps system habbits and stuff like that, right?
so wouldn't you want the ecu to get used TO the mods? add mods after it gets settled in, it's like moving homes after you just unpacked and settled in, right?
