Default Break Squeak

My rear right break recently started squeaking on my jk after 24,000 miles so I decided to change the rotors and pads and sure enough after the replacement it still squeaked! The squeak only happens when I lightly lay into the break, doesent happen when I lay into it hard. I replaced the rotor with a OEM one and duralast break pads.Any ideas???

You could have a slightly bent rear flange. I bent my rear flange last fall and had the same issues you are having. I replaced my rear shafts this weekend and the problem is gone.

I haven't done any wheeling and my axle looks nearly perfect, do you think it might have bent on the road somehow?

You could of clipped a curb with the rear causing it to bend. You can easily jack the rear up and spin the tires to check.

Was this your first time changing brakes? Could of made a mistake (I know I have).

the squeak was before and after the brake and rotor change, it squeaks less but still squeaked. I double checked everything I did on the change and even used the brake grease and everything.

I developed the same type of squeak after only 2,975 miles. Took it to the dealer today and both rear axle have a slight "turn out," they called it. Had to replace both but dealership picked up the cost. My Jeep has never been wheeled hard... Jeep said manufacture defect.

with chrysler involved, i totally believe this. 3.8s, batteries that can die when brand new, 2012 3.6 left heads, if i didnt love my jeep so much i would never have bought anything from chrysler!
