Default Broken bushing(pitman arm-draglink) w/ pics now

Anyone know where I can get a replacement bushing that goes in between the drag link and the pitman arm? Mine has a large rip in it causing a loud clunking noise on bumps. Pic 1 shows the passenger side drag link, pic 2-3 show the rubber part at the pitman arm and drag link. The clunking noise is coming from one of those two areas as the drag link can be turned slightly back and forth.

It sounds like you're talking about the rubber dust boot for that joint. If it's clunking, the damage is done. Replacing the rubber boot will do nothing. If it's what I think you're talking about, all it does is keep dust and rirt out of that joint.

Go to Carquest or any auto parts store and pick up a drag lin/ tie rod end boot. I don't remember what size to get.

Both of you seem to have missed the part where he says it's clunking. Replacing the boot ain't gonna fix a clunk.

Naw hellbound posted a link to the TRE. I guess the clank did not register to me because if you actually take the boot off the TRE will clank against the pitman arm. But should not clank if it's only torn as the OP said. So I missed what he said. Heck I think all I read of your statement was all it does is keep dust out. Maybe it's time to go to bed.

Yup. That's just the rubber dust boot. IF that's the joint where it's clunking and has loose play, the link needs to be replaced. Now, it's normal to be able to grab the link and "twist" it, but no side to side motion is normal at all.

Ok it will twist a little and there is no side to side motion. It sounds like metal on metal when I twist the link.
