Default Bug Deflector removal

Does anyone have any tips for pulling off the bug deflector installed by the previous owner?

I removed the 4 screws but it's stuck on there. My exacto knife is too rinky dink to cut through and I don't want to pull too hard or it'll come off in pieces.

I probably should have done this a couple months ago when it was warm out

I can try the girlfriend's hairdryer but with temps near freezing I dunno

It's on there with two sided tape. Get a little paint thinner or lighter fluid to the tape, and then work a piece of dental floss along the tape. Should take it right off.

Nice to see someone else from NL! Good idea in removing the bug deflector, I dont like it either. A bit of heat and dental floss to wiggle it off should do it thou.

Leave it on there for the winter to protect your rig from rock salt. Then when the weather breaks then do what the guys above posted. I dont know about you but i dont wash the exterior or even touch the interior in the winter. That bug shield could save you from some ugly paint chips this winter.

one of the reasons I wanted to remove it was because of the snow and it being a pain in the butt when clearing off the Jeep... hmm

I never thought of dental floss. Thanks for the replies!

Ingram, I grew up in Corner Brook - went to Herdman, took off for a decade or so and now I'm back... at least for now.
