I have used Bon Ami on the windscreen before without scratches. I used it on my Vettes and no problems. Test anything on a window that will not show any mistakes at all. Sometimes it just takes elbow grease with a good sponge and car wash soap..
Good luck..

Rain x bug juice not exact name but it keeps the bugs on the windshield from baking on. And for the grill power washer with a micro fiber towel does the trick every time. Some a little more scrubbing is required like when i road through Maine for 500 miles off road and on road during black fly season man i was cleaning my windshield every 50 miles the rain x worked awesome though helps keep it cleaner longer.

as a professional detailer the best thing to combat bugs is a good sealant.....on both paint and windscreens. Don't use anything harsh on paint......if you do you'll eat away the wax. If you do make sure to come back with a good sealant/wax or both to protect it and make cleaning easier. Also NEVER use those damn bug sponges. AKA clearcoat destroyers. Those bug and grime sprays you can buy at the walpart stores are pretty much WD40. WD40 is an old detailers trick to remove bugs/tar. If you use it make sure to wash that area well with good soap and water. Followed up with a good wax....cause it'll eat it.

It's ok to use your JK hard, but protect it hard as well.

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE - Works by breaking down the bug protein (guts). Won't harm your finish. Works better than Rain-X or other products. It's cheap and found in all drug stores, Walmart, etc.
Pour it into a spray bottle and spray it on. Watch the guts foam up and wipe off with a cloth or blast it with a hose. If the guts is dried on, spray it on a rag and rub it in.
Also works great on motorcycles and especially on the dreaded Love Bugs.

I have had good success with Turtle Wax bug and tar remover on painted surfaces, as for the windscreen simply scrubbing it with a car wash brush with some car wash soap does the trick for me.

This works the best for me!!

Bug Slide got it for the Motorcycle and works great on Jeep too. Really great for the windshield! Google it but a lot of the Motorcycle Shops carry it.

Not that you want to use this often on your paint, but it WILL get the job done. Polishing Compound will get anything off your paint/windshield easily but takes a small layer off your paint/clear coat so be careful.

I use this stuff called "Bugs B Gon". It is made by seafoam, awesome stuff.
Just spray it on and rinse off the bugs. It is water activated, works great!

I use #000 steel wool on the glass. Bugs or not I use it ever couple of months to remove any built up grim.
