Just an update. I don't know what it was but its gone now!

 

I had an issue like this with my interior lights staying on. It was in a different car, but pinpointed the issue to the pin the teels the car if the door was open or closed. For some reason it figured it was always open. Like you, my issues just went away.

 

Electrical ghosts....worst kind!!

 

I get this same buzz... it doesn't matter if something is hooked up to it or not, what matters is if there's a signal coming in. I've got a car dock for my phone and have the audio hooked up to the radio. When my headlights are on, the radio is set to aux, and my phone isn't playing anything (or isn't in the dock), a buzzing noise comes over the speakers. As soon as my phone starts playing something, the buzz goes away. Or if I'm switched to another input (FM, CD, etc) there is no buzz. And of course, if the radio is off, there's no noise.

It's not a big deal, but if you're not aware of it, it can drive you nuts.
