A/C Controls Not Working
Sup guys, need some advice as to what you may think is going on here.
Got a new Radio head unit installed in my Jeep today. To do the center consol panel had to be removed. Just pulled out a bit to slide in the new unit (didnt have to detach anything like wires or whatnot. On the way home after getting the new unit, I noticed the button to turn on the AC and the Button to turn the air to "Cycle" (or whatever you call it...basically where it keeps cycling the air inside the vehicle instead of pulling air from outside) didn't work.
Any ideas what it could be? Didn't pay attention if there were any wires down in the lower part of the console...so maybe that plug that those controls hook up to came loose? Any other thoughts?
Gonna go back to the shop on monday and have them pop it off again and see if we can decipher what it is. If anyone has knowledge of whats behind the console where all the AC things are that could shed some light on what may have happened that would be a real help.

Take the cover back off. Something probably got disconnected or wedged out of place. Same thing happened to me when I ran an ipod wire under the cover to the opposite side. Easy fix once you take it back apart.
Same thing happened to me when i took the center out for ipod connection it was the cable came of the back of the knob and I could turn the knob on any vent but only the floor vents would work. Reattached cable and all vents work when the knob was turned like it was suposed to.
Thanks guys. Yeah we gotta take the cover off anyways on Monday like I said. Will check that. Otherwise, if we cant seem to figure it out, I'll take it to the dealership. But I dont think that will be needed. Probably something got loose.
On a side note, I just ran out to run errands and noticed the Compass wasnt working. The display just showed the temperature outside, but no Cardinal Direction. *yeesh*
I know we plugged that in...I did that myself...
Oh well, when It goes back on Monday we will have to disconnect/connect that cable again as well lol. Maybe that will do it haha

Well took it into the dealership. It wasnt a cable that came loose behind the console. Also checked the fuses and those turned out OK. Not sure what it was.
After sitting at the dealership for a minute, we deducted that that cycle system seemed to be stuck in the ON position regarldless of if we hit the button or not (still no lights on for the buttons) but the AC button you could tell would still turn off and on the AC compressor and it would blow cold air like normal, but same as the cycle button, no lights on.
Either way, they are going to work on it (yeesh 15K miles and shes already in the hospital overnight). In the meantime, the dealership gave me a Dodge Challenger to cruise around in. Hopefully they get Firewarrior fixed up and back in my position ASAP!

Turns out the computer behind the console that those buttons control went bad. He said that he hadn't seen anything like that in a while, especially at such low mileage of only 15K miles.
He said they ordered the part and it wont be in for 5 days at most. I know most of you guys are thinking "wtf does this guy need his AC for?!" I tell you...I live in south Texas, we don't know what "snow" is. I've been running my AC all during the so called "winter season"
