Default a/c line getting worn by another fititng- anyone else?

Wondering if anyone else has noticed this happening...

Looking under the hood to the driver side there are two lines coming off the radiator to the A/c compressor.
Looking at the larger diameter line, I believe the low pressure line for the A/c. it curves down and touches another hose fitting with some sharp edges. I went to handle the low line thinking it was too close and found the bottom of the cable is heavily worn and black rubber dust is laying around the sharp fitting.

Any one else notice this?
I put a sticky 1/4" felt pad spacer between the 2 lines to prevent further damage and after my vacation next week it'll go to the dealer, but thought I'd get some others looking there. You can't really see it, you have to put your hand on the line and feel for a flat /wear spot underneath.

Photos added. I am pointing at the spot. This is looking down to the right while standing in front of the vehicle.
