Default A/C not working

Anybody elses a/c just quit working sometimes? I can start it, it works fine. Shut the jeep off, start it again , no go. It's happened 3 times now. It always comes back on after about 10 minutes.

Not sure on the Jeep, but I've had other engines/vehicles computers that overide the A/C if the engine temp exceeds a certain level. Once the engine cools below a certain level, it will kick it back on. Again, not sure on the Jeep, but it wouldn't surprise me if its the same way

It's weird, it's done it when it was 70 outside. Today I drove 200 miles, it was 97* & it didn't happen once.

may be a low pressure switch. Havnt had the chance to familiarize myself with the ac system of my jk quite yet so i cant confirm there is infact a low pressure switch however almost all refrigeration systems have high pressure switch paired with a low. If there is such a switch though based on your stated ambient conditions, if your system was just low enough on refrigerant that @ 70 F may not be warm enough air for your evaporator to build up its needed pressure to keep this switch from opening. Open the hood roll down the windows and see what your compressor doing. Cycling or running conisintently and supplying satisfactory air.

You might need more refrigerant.

Just throwing that out there.

I wouldn't use those a/c recharge kits that can be found at automotive stores. In the trade we consider em mystery refrigerants, cocktails. Take it to a garage and you will get the good stuff. Personally I own a set of high and low side yellow jacket automotive refrigeration fittings, refrigeration 134a gauges and the access to all refrigerants.

I would ask the dealer, but I would also go along with a pressure sensor. Some A/C units need time to recycle, too much or too little pressure puts a strain on the compressor, don't know if it applies here.
