Default CA Emissions question

Gents,
Figure there's a bunch of smart guys on here that'll know the answer to this. I'm trying to sell my Jeep, and I've got a guy that wants it, but he lives in CA. He asked whether it would pass CA smog/emissions tests. It's not a CA purchased Jeep, but it I haven't done any engine/exhaust mods. Does anyone here know if it will pass and he'll be able to register it in CA?

Thanks!

Any idea what that add-on is? Can't cost much or it would seriously cut in to a use car dealerships profit.

Why would it? Used cars are exempt.

Default ca emissions

There was a time when any vehicle brought into Cali had to pay and extra $300.00 to register if it was not Cali. certified. A lawsuit was filed and Cali lost and people were gicen their $$$ back. If your Jeep was registered in another state , then you should have no problem registering it in Cali. As for the emission test, as long as the vehicle has on the vehicle what it says on the emission label, you should be ok. The tailpipe emissions really should not change because it is a federal car.
