staying in place is not a problem as long as you keep the rubber side down (your vehicle, that is!). it is almost as if Jeep made the dimensions exactly for this filter. i do have one friend that decided to put some silicon on the filter to hold it in place but that is not necessary.

Well, whether you have the model that comes with the filters or not, after 6 months or so you're going to have to buy them anyway. So really, if you have a Sport model that doesn't come with the filters, all you've lost is $12 bucks for that first set of filters.
I picked some up from the dealership and popped them in. Hopefully it'll also help a little with my allergy symptoms in our Fall pollen season here.

Yep, noticed this when swapping the glovebox out. In 2011 there are 2 small filters in there and the grate snaps off for easy removal.
