Default Can the globebox be opened while locked?

So Jeep was broken into and the glovebox was locked. The thieves stuck something into the key hole to try and open the glovebox. Whatever was stuck in there is still there and it won't come out. Is there a way to get in there?

I would just yank it open (break it), and then try to find a replacement from someone who upgraded to a metal one and doesn't need theirs anymore.

It is loose hinged at the bottom, from underneath try and pinch the two bottom corners inwards, will then swing toe out towards seat. Id try that before forcing

Sorry to hear about it. Was this at home or work?

Would like to salvage if possible. I was mostly just wanting to get the stuff out of the glovebox for now.

This sounds like a good idea, I may give this a try.

good luck and sorry to hear about that. apparently those things are a pain to break into - which is good for us I suppose. they ripped my center console open with no problem, but were unable to get into the glovebox. i just replaced the handle and lock mechanism if i remember correctly, neither of which was too expensive.
