Look at joe hauler carriers, They work great, you don't have to pay registration and you can drive at higher speeds (trailers restricted speed limit & in Ca they must be in Rt. 2 lanes)
Make sure your receiver can handle the heavy tongue weight also when I replaced my springs and shocks on my Rubicon, I made sure my suspension would handle this weight too.
Unlimited (4-doors) can handle more weight duie to the longer wheel base.

Be careful towing at highway speeds with 12" tires. They are going to be spinning way faster and will wear out themselves and the wheel bearings faster.
That being said, I got about 10 years of abuse out of mine, including many trips out into the Oregon Dunes.
