Can't remove water spots on Black JK
I bought a black one with allllllllll kinds of water spots on it and the best I could do for it was scrub it up with some rubbing compound, then clay bar (you did), then wax it up.
Mother's does make a water spot remover but I've not had a chance to use it.

Talk to the guys at autopia-carcare.com. The website is full of detailing resources as well. I have a garage full of detailing products and equipment. Best thing you can do is get a dual action polisher (I like the porter cable), get the right pads, some polish, and you are good to go. Happy to give more specific details to my process, but I can say that the black of my JK is so deep, you can swim in it!
I have a black wrangler unlimited and I couldn't seam to get this water spot hair off the front hood but if I rubbed it with my finger it smudged. So I got the mesquites two in one car wash and wax and washed it by hand and it looked amazing and I was able to get rid of those spots. None the less I have a ton of scratches down the side from trips to inner lake and I will be Linexing the whole outside come Christmas time
Try using TR-9 resin glaze, I had a black BMW 135i and it water marked bad when it was parked next to a sprinkler that I didn't know was there :( anyways that stuff really worked, just make sure you read the directions and apply by hand,
Thanks for all the input. I should be receiving the chemical guys hard water spot remover today. Plan on claying the entire jeep, applying that the at least one coat of black wax to prevent this from happening again. At least my 2 door isn't that big but its going to be hard to keep clean. No lift for me as I plan on keeping it in the garage and only really use it for the weekend!
Don't look at my 2012 Black JK. It hasn't been wash in weeks. It still has mud on it from the last time I was out. When I do wash it I just use turtle wax wash, and leave it at that. Plus it has a lot of tree pin stripes in the paint, and the plastic windows in the soft top. Most wouldn't come out unless I rub through the paint. I'm going wheeling this weekend, maybe I will wash it. Maybe not. LOL
