Default carpet....

So after getting some water in the JK this past week during TS Andrea, I'm kinda wanting to leave the carpets out since the windows will be staying out for good until December. A little hesitant b/c of the warning under the rug advising not to. Is it really that hot or a bad idea? If so, what do you recommend so that it doesn't smell like a swamp buggy after Florida storms?

^^ agreed...one of my best mods. Not a very noticable heat difference and Id say get it done in the sunner to let the bedline smell clear out before winter

Pulled the carpet from both JKs over a year ago and wish I'd done it when we first bought them. With seatcovers too I don't need to worry about every little rain smelling up my jeeps. No noticeable difference in heat, top stays off if it's not raining anyway, and a little heat is welcome in the winter. Some people have concerns about rust etc and bedline them. I have the large Quadratec mats that cover the full passenger areas and there are no discernable scratches underneath and certainly no rust...

I heard that there will be a rubber flooring for the JK out this August. I'm holding out for this rather than beadlining. I think it will be a better heat shield.

I thought that mopar used to offer a rubber flooring kit for JK's but that they recently discontinued it? But i could be wrong.
I pulled my carpets about two months ago and just got it bedlined. Wayyyy better than carpet.

I used herculiner on my old YJ and plan to bedline the JK. I know there are a lot more DIY options now. I've been pretty happy with the rustolium rattle can. Any recommendations out there though?

Yes I do accept that rubber flooring is best than carpet on the floor,we cannot easily manage carpet so its better to have rubber flooring.

Remove it! Not only is it easier to wipe or hose out, it keeps the dog hair out too! I had black carpet and my golden retriever would always leave gobs of hair in the back.

After: I also moved my pedals to the right side too!

One more....
