Default Caught in the rain, how to clean

So had a blast Memorial day weekend in Ocean City, MD. Saw and met some great fellow Jeepers.

Anyways on Sunday I got caught in nasty downpour in Rehoboth beach strip with the doors and top off. Tried to drive back to Ocean City to my covered spot and got caught in traffic for 1 1/2 hours in the rain. It was a lot of fun driving in the rain with the doors off but I got soaked lol.

I managed to put the soft top back on but didnt have the windows or doors. So a lot of rain came in the sides and soaked the seats and carpets. Under the front seats and the rear are very wet.

I opened the drain plugs and let it dry as much as I could but we have had shitty weather since then (no sun). Carpets are still wet, and I fear they are gonna reak bad.

What is the best way to get these dry without a smell? Thanks guys.

You took your top of at Rehoboth.......I could soooo take that the wrong way...

Just pull the carpet and hang it up to dry......after it is dry sprinkle a bit of Arm and Hammer into it and vaccum it out, then put the carpet back in.

that happened to me once and I rented a steam cleaner from the local supermarket for like $30. The attachment steamed the carpet and then sucked up all of the moisture till it was bone dry. Dried my carpets and also got them nice and clean.

there are a few places, mostly around the seat mounts, that you will need to cut. mostly just a small snip... easy as pie.

i would hose them off with clean water then hang them up to dry.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll pull the carpet out this evening then. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Gotta have this thing pristine for my trip to N.C. in two weeks

I ran into a similar situation last year. Pull the carpet! It comes out with ease. Upon close inspection I noticed that mine was perforated around certain spots. It only took a tug to free it all without removing the seats or center console. With the drain holes removed and the carpet left to hang dry; my completely soaked interior was returned to factory new condition when reassembled with no odor. Oh and the YES Essential fabric had the seats dry before I had the carpet out.
