Was the light flickering randomly or flashing at a steady rate?

Odd either way, but just curious.

Default i had that happen

few years ago , it was a thermostat that triggered iton mine . They tossed a new one in under warranty and a year later same thing it was - 20 out and bing light flashed a few times and went out . Took it in to dealer and another bad thermostat and housing is what they said
Replaced at my cost of 2 hundred included labor and part out of warranty but fixed and off i went again . So just saying it might not be major and both times it did not drive different or have a odd reading on temp reading.

* yeh i know 200 for a thermostat and housing? i wanted to say forget it . But it was -20 need i say more

Well on the bright side, it looks like an exhaust clamp on the crossover pipe heat shield has appeared to have taken care of the rattle. I drive it again for about 90 minutes around town tonight and it hasn't happened again. I guess I'll keep an eye on it.

Any ideas?

I have also had a sporadic rattle sound coming from what sounds like right under the passenger compartment for a couple weeks now. I had figured it was just a heat shield but now I wonder if it's something worse.

I know this is an old thread, but my 2011 JKU just did the same thing today. The sporadic rattling has been going on for some time now, but the flashing engine light was new today. What was done to resolve this for you?

Woah, I came here looking for other people encountering similar issues with intermittent warning lights and *bam* its right on page one. I have a 2013 JK with 93,000 miles that has started exhibiting similar behavior fairly recently (within the last 6 months). In my experience it has been extremely random and I was unable to reproduce the issue until last week. Perhaps coincidentally, since day 1 my Jeep has exhibited a very intermittent issue where the windshield wipers will start going off with literally no interaction on my part. They will wipe 3-4 times and then stop.

The other day when I was sitting in traffic, the car in front of me moved forward and I lightly accelerated from a stop and *bam* the Parking brake, ABS warning and traction control lights all came on and then shut off. It happened 5 times in a row and I was able to capture it on my phone.
. Is your issue similar? Has it happened since?

I know that I've had some error codes present for a while (P0579,P0591) and that the clock-spring in my steering column is bad. I'm wondering if they're related.
