Default Check up

Jeep is creeping up on 10k miles. Would anybody suggest a dealer check up? If so how much would that cost?

I think many dealers suck and they will find something wrong to get money out of you. One thing in particular is they could tell you that your diff fluid should be changed. Some have charged upwards of $300 for this even though its less than 30 minutes in labor and maybe $30 in fluids. My 2012 has 23,000 miles on it. Never been on a dealer lot since I pulled out when buying and I hope to keep it that way as long as possible.

Get a service maintenance schedule from the dealer and do the work yourself. You will save a ton of money

Or just look in the "Owners Handbook" that came with your Jeep. If you don't have one, you can always go on-line and down load one.

I had the same question before and the guys in the forum helped me out ... I went to the dealer an got the schedule for mine and plan to find a place to get all this done properly... I found out the dealership doesn't really do the checks unless you ask them to ... They mainly do an oil change and clean ur filter other than that nothing!... Mopar came out with a new oil to keep the oil change so the checks are a bit diff now now sure how it is in the us I'm attaching one I got from the dealer hope this helps ( we use Kilometers here)

Nope, I wouldn't suggest it unless it was paid for by the warranty. Look at your Jeep's User Guide, pages 102-104. It'll have maintenance charts available for use.

Ya I don't know how comfortable you are with doing your own maintenance. But this is really basic stuff for all Jeeps. If you can change your own oil, then you can do your own "preventative maintenance checks". You can find plenty of information and/or help on how to complete these checks right here on this forum. Doing the work yourself will save you a lot of money. If you are concerned about your warranty, just make yourself a Log Book. And record all of your findings.

Hope this helps.
