Isn't every vehicle like this? Only the front 2 doors open even though they're locked? I know the XJ and Liberty were also like this.

Maybe, but it can be programmed to unlock all 5 doors when either front door is opened.

When I open the front door it does unlock all the doors on the JK. It's just annoying when I'm dropping friends off and I have to unlock the doors for them. Don't understand why it's set up this way.

OK, now I'm following you. It can be pretty annoying. I ran into this when I added my half doors, so I actually rigged up power lock switches for them so that I could unlock them with the button, just like the full doors.

If im getting u right your pulling up and dropping someone off. If u have an auto trans put it in park and see if the doors unlock, thats what mine does. Think it's a safety thing so a child cant get out with the transmission in any gear but park

Me either but I'll give it a go. If that's the case I might have to wire up a relay. I'm all for safety but things are getting out of hand these days. I have a switch I can turn on and off, that's all I should need.

Mine unlocks once you put it in park, but you have to open a front door to get it to do that.

On mine the manual locks in the door handles unlock the door even if the front hasn't been opened, after they automatically lock when rolling. I thought they all had manual locks in the rear?
