Cleared code Wont stay running
Did you actually fix the problem?
P0461 JEEP Description
The fuel level sensor is mounted in the fuel level sensor unit. The sensor detects a fuel level in the fuel tank and transmits a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The fuel level sensor consists of two parts, one is mechanical float and the other side is variable resistor. The fuel level sensor output voltage changes depending on the movement of the fuel mechanical float.
I had it looked at and was told it functioning ok . The jeep ran fine before and after engine light came on . IT seamed to register the fuel levels when I added fuel . To answer your question No repairs were done ! the jeep only has 43,000 miles on it !
There was no repairs made to the jeep ! I had it looked at fuel was added I was told everything seemed to be functioning as it should . The jeep only has 43,000 miles on it and it was running fine before and after the engine light came on !
If the jeep posted the DTC and no repairs were made, I'd be suspicious that the problem still exists and is the root cause of your jeep not running. (even if the DTC was cleared and hasn't shown again)
So some options.
1. There's a loose connection in the fuel delivery system / fuel level system.
2. Did you actually run the jeep empty? If so, maybe caused the fuel pump to clog (doubtful) or malfunction
Regardless, the engine needs fuel, air, and spark to run. You had a problem with the fuel... so likely related. I'm thinking your best bet is to take it back to whomever cleared the DTC and let them have a swing at it.
Good luck.

Thanks ! Did not run it out of fuel had over a 1/4 tank in it added fuel and gauge responded to the adding of fuel .Unfortunately it was an parts store that cleared the code I think my best bet is to get it to a certified mechanic to figure this one out !
