My first thought would be u-joint, second would be wheel bearing... Also I am assuming that it is not your tire rubbing at full lock?

No rubbing issues. After looking closer when I got home I think it's my homemade quick disco.

I had the same issue with my '12 Rubicon unlimited. Low speeds it sounded horrible, people would just stare like something was broken. Took it to my local jeep dealer and found it was a broken u-joint. It wasn't a major issue, once the part was in it only took a couple hours to fix.

Reach under your Jeep, grab the front driveshaft and twist left and right. There should be no play in the u-joints.

I heard it again this morning. I'm going to get under it again tonight. Still only happens when turning hard left into a parking spot.

What were the treads catching? I have trimmed fenders and almost 4 inches of lift.

The treads on the top of the shock were catching on the hole in the shock mount it would move a little catch then pop when I was turning
