Clock Spring Confusion
Hello,
I have a 2008 Sahara, that had a recall on the clock spring, supposedly this recall was because of the airbag not firing on specific VINs from this year. Anyways, I had my clock spring replaced for free. The mechanic at the Jeep dealership told me that the clock spring was the part that controls the functions of the horn and airbag.
After it was replaced my horn fails to function when pressed, but the horn can still be heard by setting of the alarm. Before I had the clock spring replaced my horn worked perfectly.
Does this mean that the clock spring may have been uninstalled incorrectly, and therefore I may not have an airbag go off in event of a crash? I brought it back promptly and they said there was a wiring issue between the steering wheel and the horn. Which is bs in my opinion.
Thanks,
Charlie
