Default Cluck while steering

At times when turning I feel and hear a clunk in the steering wheel. This has been going on before I put the lift on. Does any body else have this issue? Any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it.

Thanks!

I will check it out. I am not a master mechanic so even though this issue was there before the lift it still makes me nervous when it does occur.

Default I fixed mine

I fixed mine by following another thread here... search 'steering clunk' and you should find it.

The solution was to buy Amsoil 5th Wheel spray grease. This stuff gets stiffer the more you work it. You poke a needle hole in the steering shaft boot, and spray a good amount of this stuff in there. I then sealed the needle hole with sealant (really not necessary though). After steering for a few days... the grease stiffens up... NO MORE CLUNK.

I had read others got their dealer to replace the steering shaft, and that did not fix it, not for long anyway.

Others used non-spray 5th wheel grease, but they had to remove the boot to get into the joint. I guess if you can't find the spray type, you could put some regular 5th wheel grease in a syringe.
Good Luck! Easy fix that works!
