Default Clutch

So, this is the first Manual I've owned, so forgive me if I'm missing something here.

I swear, every time I get back from the dealership, my JK's clutch feels amazing. The contact point is nice and low near the floorboard.... The clutch pedal always has a nicer weight to it... and my shifts always seem 100x smoother (no popping, jumping, or jerking).

Unfortunately, it seems like after a week or two away from the dealership, the clutch feel changes completely. Am I missing something here? Is there something I'm doing wrong from keeping the thing feeling like it does fresh from teh dealership??? Are the tech's just adjusting something on me???

I don't know if it has anything to do with the dealership or not, but mine does the same thing....it drives different from one day to the next. One day I can shift smooth and look like I know what I'm doing (been driving manuals for years), the next day I look like a 15 year old girl trying to drive her daddy's Jeep for the first time.....I don't get it either.

I'm willing to admit operator error.... but I've had this thing since August... Sometimes I feel no improvement from day 1!

I know what you mean, it can get embarrassing when you've got people with you and it starts jerking around or stalling.....I first learned how to drive a stick when I was about 14, and I'm 27 now and have had/driven SEVERAL different vehicles with manual trans. so I THINK I should have it down by now. But, once again, maybe it's a "Jeep thing".

I thought I was the only one, I too learned to drive in a manual and have driven at least 200-300 thousand miles since then in a manual. My TJ was a manual and it was a dream to drive. I have almost 1000 miles on my JK and I feel like an idiot in 1st and 2nd gear if I don't really pay attention.

At least it keeps the wife from wanting to drive it

Are the clutches on these things hydraulic? I'm guessing so, since I don't have one. It could be that they smoke it over good at the dealer, bleed the system and you may have a part allowing air in. Bad clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder.....just a thought.
