Default Clutch Is Gone After 5000 Miles!!

Well saturday night driving down the road goin 65 just fine came up to an intersection stopped then went to proceed through it and jeep wouldnt go at all, i tried every gear, reverse and still nothing, Smells rele strong like a burnt clutch. Got it to the house thanks to a friend got up under it and there was black thick fibers alomost like cotton candy hanging outa the inspection plate opening for the transmission, I dont know why or how this happened but its is sitting at the dealer right now, should hear somthing mayby by tomorow. Anybody else have this problem or other clutch problems fixed at the dealer.

Yup had the same problem with just 3,900 miles. And I was down in mass and they put a new one under warrenty. they said it was the way i was driving but i am really hoping it was a defualt or somthing. Good luck man I was lucky to get it under warrenty and it took 10 days to get it fixed.

I have a few questions for you guys. What were the build dates on your Jeeps and do you have any mods (lifts, biggers tires, etc). Thanks.

Is the JK your first vehicle with a manual tranny?

did you ever smell the clutch burning prior to it going out?

I have 7,000 miles and no issues, I've never even burnt the clutch yet,,

I wheeled mine once so far and smelled the clutch pretty bad, Had to rev it quite a bid to get over a steep hill in 4lo. That was the only time I had a problem. I think it was more me then the jeep. My last jeep was an auto and is easier to wheel in my opinion then a manual. I hope to get more practice in before I burn it up.
