Default Clutch master cylinder quick disconnect not snapping all the way in

Hello,

noob here.

I have replaced both my slave and master clutch cylinders as well as the hardline between them. However, I'm finding it very difficult to get the quick disconnect (with the nipple) to snap all the way into the master cylinder. it only goes in "mostly" all the way allowing me to slide the retaining clip in but then subsequently "popping" back off when the pedal is depressed. I believe it needs to go in about 1/4" farther to be fully seated. Has anyone needed anything other than "finger strength" to get these to fully seat?

Being plastic, i'm hesitant to apply mechanical pressure to anything without seeking advice first.

thanks.

I haven't replaced one on a JK, but I believe it takes some decent force to get past the spring clip. Already figured it out???
