Damn how the hell did you crack the splines on the insert? What did that sound like before you decided to replace it? Did it still function before disassembly? Sorry for all the questions I've got 92.5k miles on my clock on my 07 still original and pedal feels normal but is a little noisy from the t.o.b. Just wondering if i should start saving up for clutch replacement.

Is the throwout bearing easy to get to? Asking cause mine makes a whistling noise when not on the gas, and when sitting at a light. Thinking of doing it myself. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I will outline somethings for you guys
-if your doing it on the floor, plan for more than 8 hours of work if you never did it before
-get the national throw out bearing
-the mopar throw out bearing was junk right out of the box
-a transmission jack is well worth it unless you don't mind splitting the trans and transfercase

The throw out bearing exploded and the balls fell out of it. It was making terrible noises and was hard to get out of gear. Thankfully my buddy works for a towing company and he towed me.

Did your jeep sound like this before the bearing blew its balls out?

I would say that sound is a bad throwout bearing. That bad part is that you have to take the tranny off of the engine to change it and since you are going in there you might as well change the pilot bearing and clutch/pp at the same time.
