Default Code 394

So the history is this so far.
Had bad head on drivers side. I know. Shocking. Changed head out with remanufactured head. Vehicle runs great. Driving on the highway shortly after and engine light comes on and so does stability control light. Vehicle goes into limp mode. Pulled code 394. Changed both cam position sensors, crankshaft position sensor, changed spark plugs, checked all grounds. Also during this i rebuilt entire front end. So this code keeps coming up every time i drive it and sends into limp mode. Oh yeah also checked the oil bolts behind the camshaft phasers. All good there. What am i missing. Anyone have an answer. Everywhere i look seems no one has a great outcome from thi s problem. Please help.

I really think a lot of these cam code issues come down to wiring and electrical more than mechanical culprits. Seems a lot of folks find success in pigtailing in a new harness but I personally didn't have success with that. I thought I escaped my P0396 issue when I rebuilt my timing recently, but a trip pulling my trailer in the last few weeks proved that was certainly NOT the case! I feel your pain cuz i know how aggravating this is. I tend to only throw the code when towing. For me personally, I'm suspecting wiring closer to the TIPM. the few times I've had this engine apart I've pulled the battery box and I couldn't get the harnesses disconnected from the underside of the TIPM so i just did my best to work around it and think maybe things have stretched a bit. Jeep is getting inspected today and then i'm replacing all the TIPM wiring harnesses and installing a dual battery tray. Feels like wishful thinking but I'm a bit at a loss myself. I know mechanically my timing and camshafts are fine.....and I know as soon as I reset that code and start back up I roll down the road just fine with no issues till the next time. . Seems electrical to me.

The problem in my head is that i ever had this code before i swapped a remanned head. Thinking about reinstalling old head and see if it goes away. Only used remanned head because i thought. Shit i can get this done in a couple of days. But in ever sent my original head back for core. So maybe reinstall with new gasket and see what happens. Remanned head came with cams, lifters and rockers. Maybe the new shit is shit.
