Code U1159 plus other gremlins. TIPM issue?
Good Morning,
My JK decided to become infested with gremlins last night out of the clear blue. Or at least it seems so. Little bit of background info... went wheeling September 6th and my 2012 JK Rubicon was performing just fine until it had been on the trails for about 3 hours. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Drove through a couple puddles, but no major water fording. Had mostly been doing rock crawling in 4 lo. Stopped for lunch, and resumed wheeling. Within about 15 min, my Jeep just stalled for no reason. It's an automatic. Just died. Started back up with no issue, but then we went to put it into reverse and it died again. Did a few cycles in and out of 4wd, forward, reverse, etc. and everything seemed back to normal. Thought nothing of it and went on with our day. Wheeled the whole next day too and no issues.
So fast forward to this weekend, after having spent a week driving the JK around as my daily driver with zero issues to speak of... start my Jeep up yesterday and the sway bar light is blinking. Put it into 4 lo to see if we could get it to stop or become solid... or something. No dice. Won't disconnect, just blinks. So I pull out my Flashcal to see if its throwing any codes, and it is. 4 of them. One was U1159 - lost communication with the sway bar. The other 3 codes were related to my headlights (I'm running Trucklites with the anti-flicker harness) and whattayaknow, my passenger headlight dies when I put the highbeams on.
I've certainly seen people say that the rubi sway bar e-disconnect can cause all sorts of problems if they get wet and stop functioning properly, but with the other stalling weirdness and headlights, I'm wondering if this is a bigger electrical issue. I HATE taking my Jeep to the dealership so I'm wondering what I can do to troubleshoot this at home. Any advice? Anyone else having problems like this? Am I right to think this is a TIPM issue?
Thanks in advance,
Kate

Kate, you ever get this resolved?
I had a similar experience with my 08 Rubicon, sway bar light flashing, pass high beam headlight out, and driver fog light out. I replaced my sway bar (no more flashing) replaced bulbs and good to go, no more codes, etc. The old sway bar I will tear down to see why it failed and mod it to a manual disconnect if I cannot ix it.
