Default Cold Passenger Side Footwell Area....

Wife requested I ask this question. On both our 2010 & 2012, she says that when driving around during cold weather, say 30 degrees or below, that the passenger side footwell area is very cold on her legs and feet.
It's not an air leak, but a radiant cold. We have tried all heater settings, floor, bi-level, defrost bilevel. No difference in the cold. I'm sitting over there driving, burning up.
She's gone to the trouble of putting a small blanket between the door and seat, then wrapping it on around her front leg area. She's also put a triple folded towel under the passenger seat to keep some heat under the seat area.

Anybody ever heard or experienced this complaint from their passenger(s) in cold weather?

I haven't, but are you getting air flow from the heater to the passenger side floor?

My wife complains about the exact same thing. There seems to be heat from the outlet under the dash, but not enough to counter the cold. The term "radiant cold" you used describes it very well. Since hot air rises, I don't think it makes it down into the footwell area when it is very cold. I'm talking about -10C and colder. Considered hoses etc to hack the system.

Yes. The post under yours describes it too. Seems it's not just her that is experiencing it.

I believe it's a design flaw that there's just not enough heat volume coming down on that side, being that these vehicles virtually have no floor or door insulation other than the carpet and door panel.
