Come on Forbes
Are they regurgitating that dated article yet again? I mean, let's face it, they are technically correct. And for those folks who have as much passion for their driving as they do for ironing clothes, their "subjective" rating of the Wrangler is about as accurate as they would likely write for their ironing board. Which totally misses the point of owning a Wrangler (or any other vehicle that has real "fun factor" in owning it). And the public is becoming aware of that. The sales numbers prove that fact (despite the poor JD Powers/Forbes/Consummer's Guide results). Hey, we're on the winning side here!

reiewers typically review the same things about any vehicle..
is it quiet?
is the MPG reasonable for the vehicle size? (they consider a 2 door a compact SUV)
are the seats cushy and comfortable?
does it handle like its on rails?
most reviewers first off nearly always rate any convertiible as bad.. unless its some special edition then it gets a pass.
they also rate wranglers "bad" in reliability because of the amount of repairs that come in..
those numbers are often skewed with wranglers.. and here is why:
wrangler is not sold as a refined luxury SUV.. however in the last few years with features such as power options, leather, navi, infotainment, etc wrangler has attracted buyers from other brands of SUV's.. many of them higher end SUV's (face it JK;s arent cheap)..
these buyers typically want no whistles, squeaks, rattles, shakes, vibrations, etc.. something thats near impossible to achieve and maintain the ruggedness and strength that JK provides.. going from an IFS luxury SUV to solid axles is a rude awakening for many..
these people open repair order after repair order.. which reduces the "reliability" ratings wranglers get..
with internet and social media people dont know how to just say "this vehicle isnt for me, or isnt for everyone".. instead they trash it and say it sucks... because when they do that more people read the article and talk about it which makes the click-bot advertisers happy...

I think the fact that the Wrangler has held one of the top 3 spots for resale value for the last few years speaks volumes. If it were such a terrible vehicle, it wouldn't be in such high demand. Let's face it...the Wrangler has withstood the test of time and come out ahead. Can't expect much more than that.
These are automotive reviews written for people who experience driving and vehicle ownership as burdensome necessities.
It's like if I decided to go write reviews on wine or something. "We found these Bartles and James Wine Coolers to be an innovative blend of wine and other fruit-like tastes over traditional bottled wine derived only from grapes. Small bottle size allows for discrete consumption and portability. However, these Wine Coolers are second only to our favorite box wine, which we prefer for its availability in enormous quantity, low cost, and slim form factor in the refrigerator. We are impressed by the integrated tap which replaces messy uncorking. We are pleased to announce Franzia is the recipient of our 2016 Wine Trend "Wine of the Year" award for the 20th year in a row!
