Good to know...I'll pull my Daystar off and see if I made the same mistake re-installing the compass.

Taking away the cell phone got it to work for me......which really sucks...that was the main reason I wanted the daystar panel.

Trust me guys, you've got it in wrong! Orient it the way I said and it'll work...like mine did. Oh and yes the phone on it will likely throw off the compass....like mine does. DOH!

So, putting anything electronic up there (phone, iPod, GPS) will throw off the compass?

I've been thinking about adding it, but if everything I would use it for will screw it up, what's the point?

Some say that if you put your phone on the back part of the tray, it doesn't effect the compass. Personally I got it as a place to mount my GPS without having to use the window *never sticks for long* suction mount.

Why not just relocate the Compass sensor to another spot when installing the Daystar panel? The panel is on my Christmas list for myself so, I'll be doing this shortly...

Maybe it's just me, but what does it matter if the compass doesn't work if you have a GPS sitting on the Daystar?! Too bad about the cell phone thing though, guess I'll scratch the daystar off my list... that;s what I wanted to use it for.

Nah, just move the sensor... There is no reason why you can't just move the sensor to the left or right section of the dash. It does not need to be centered in the Jeep like an Inclinometer does, just make sure it's oriented correctly. I relocated some much electrical stuff in my last truck it's not even funny, most anything can be relocated if it needs to be.

I can't wait to the get the Daystar Panel, I will mounting my GPS and Cell Phone to it.
