Default Complete soft top removal?

Hi I'm sure this has been addressed a thousand times, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to completely remove the soft top on my 2010 jku. I am going to be trading it for a hardtop so everything has to go. Thank you in advanced for the help.

Hello,
OK hear it goes, its not to bad of a chore to do..
1. unzip and remove all of the windows "not sure if you have ever done this but its not to hard to figure out"
2. remove the tailgate retainer clips form either side "the clips are the ones that hold the lower rear window bar in place"
3. once you remove the windows you can lower the top completely back "undo the two front latches and slightly push up it release the top from the header"
4. next hold the top "make sure to fold it in the classic W style when your lowering the top"
5. once folded down you can unscrew the torx screws that hold the soft top arms to the roll bar mount
6. then unbolt the roll bar mount from the roll bar itself and set aside
7. gently remove the top and set all of the pieces aside.
8. reattach the roll bar mounting bracket to the arms so you don't lose them
9. next undo the the three knobs on each side over the door surrounds "6 knobs total"
10. gently lift up the front door surround and remove it, next lift the rear door surround and set aside
11. remove the opposite side door surrounds

That is pretty much it a nut shell, cleaning the top before removing is a nice thing to do before putting it away or selling it.

Good luck
Augi

Wow thanks for the very detalied answer really appreciate it. Now i obviously wouldn't reinstall the mounts back onto the rollbar right? The person who is getting it would need those no?

Yes. They will need the brackets and the bolts that held them on.
